Privacy Policy
Draft, not legal advice. Plain-English starting point, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. "We" means Haul of Fame, the business running Haul of Fame. Questions or requests: bids@hauloffamefreight.com.
What we collect
- When you bid: your company or brand name, your website (optional), your email address, the spot and the bid amount, and the time.
- When you sign the truck ($10 name): the display name to write, your city (optional), your email address, which side you'd prefer, and the time. Once it's written: its spot number and the link to your signing video. If you pay: the Stripe payment reference and amount (never your card details).
- If you opt in: that you want an email when you're outbid.
- For spam protection: a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, used only for rate limits. We don't store the IP itself.
No payment details are collected on this site. There are no ad trackers or analytics cookies.
What's public
Once you confirm a bid, your company name, website and bid amount appear on the site. Once a person approves a Sign the Truck name, that name and its city (if you gave one) appear on the Signature Wall and may appear in public videos and photos of the truck. Your email is never shown.
How we use your email
- To send the link that confirms your bid.
- To contact you if you win, after bidding closes.
- For Sign the Truck: to confirm your name, tell you when it's approved or turned down, send the payment link once payment opens (with one reminder), and send your signing video.
- Only if you ticked the box: to tell you when someone outbids you. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
No newsletters or marketing unless you separately ask for them.
Who processes it
- Resend sends our emails, so it handles your email address and the message.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the bid database.
- Stripe handles Sign the Truck payments once payment opens. You pay on Stripe's own checkout page, under Stripe's privacy policy.
We don't sell, rent or trade your data, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Bid records are kept through the end of the auction and any resulting sponsorship, then deleted or anonymized within [12] months, unless we need them longer for tax or legal records. Unconfirmed bids expire after 24 hours and are never shown. Unconfirmed Sign the Truck names expire after 48 hours. Removed names come off the site within 3 days.
Your choices
Email bids@hauloffamefreight.com to see, correct or delete your data, to withdraw a bid before bidding closes, or to take your name off the truck. Use the unsubscribe link in any outbid email to stop them.
